List: Trump's willing executioners in Congress

A live list documenting Donald Trump's most sycophantic followers in Congress and the legislation they've proposed to exalt their leader.

Despite the emphasis on "the leader" within fascism, fascists never accomplish their plans on their own. They rely on functionaries and henchmen to do most of the dirty work, often without direct prompting, but rather relying on their own sense of subservience and loyalty. In the case of Nazism, historian Daniel Goldhagen's referred to these enablers as "Hitler's willing executioners," elected officials and ordinary citizens who were willingly to take up Hitler's demented worldview and translate its tenets into action.

This is an ongoing live list documenting Donald Trump's most sycophantic followers in Congress and the legislation they've proposed to exalt their American fuhrer. Some of their proposals seem comical, even to the point of parody. But fascism often masks its true dangers in absurdity and a perception of ineptitude.

Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA-14)

On January 9, 2025, Representative Greene introduced H.Res.25, or "Expunging the January 13, 2021, impeachment of President Donald John Trump," which would seek to "undo" Trump's two impeachments.

On January 9, 2025, Representative Greene introduced H.R.276, or the "Gulf of America Act of 2025," which would rename the Gulf of Mexico as the “Gulf of America," officially by law as opposed to meaningless executive order.

Andrew Ogles (R-TN-5)

On January 23, 2025, Representative Ogles introduced H.J.Res.29, or "Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to provide that no person shall be elected to the office of the President more than three times," which would allow Donald Trump (and presumably other former presidents) to run for a third term.

Addison McDowell (R-NC-6)

On January 23, 2025, Representative McDowell introduced H.R.691, or "To designate the Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia as the "Donald J. Trump International Airport," which would rename Dulles airport, named after John Foster Dulles, after Trump.

Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL-13)

On January 28, 2025, Representative Luna introduced H.R.792, or "To direct the Secretary of the Interior to arrange for the carving of the figure of President Donald J. Trump on Mount Rushmore National Memorial," which would add Trump's fat face to Mount Rushmore in South Dakota.

Earl L. "Buddy" Carter (R-GA-1)

On February 10, 2025, Representative Buddy introduced H.R.1161, or the "Red, White, and Blueland Act of 2025," which would "authorize the President to enter into negotiations to acquire Greenland and to rename Greenland as 'Red, White, and Blueland,'" because everything is stupid now.

Claudia Tenney (R-NY-24)

On February 14, 2025, Representative Tenney introduced H.R.1395, or the "Trump’s Birthday and Flag Day Holiday Establishment Act," which would make Trump's June 14 birthday a new federal holiday (which is also, coincidentally, already Flag Day).

Joe Wilson (R-SC-2)

On February 26, 2025, Representative Wilson announced "that I am drafting legislation to direct the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to design a $250 bill featuring Donald J. Trump. Bidenflation has destroyed the economy, forcing American families to carry more cash. Most valuable bill for the most valuable President!" Current US law forbids a living person from appearing on American currency.
